Dec 9 in Brooklyn & Jan 10 online: A Workshop for Mars Retrograde
Mars -- the planetary god of war, anger, and action -- enters its pre-retrograde shadow on November 4. For 10 weeks, Mars will gradually slow to a crawl before standing still on January 10, reversing motion, and re-tracing its steps until April 1.
Mars symbolizes drive and motivation. It shows us where and how we take action. It shows us where and how we fight. When Mars slows down and reverses, our sense of urgency can intensify, but meaningful action may be delayed. We may need to internalize, revise, or reflect on Mars' themes of anger, conflict, fear, agitation, passion, energy, productivity, or desire. These delays, detours, or intensifications of Mars' themes can look different for each of us - and will vary experientially from retrograde to retrograde, depending on our individual charts.
In this workshop, we will practice ways to honor anger & conflict, to balance urgency with deliberation, and to sever that which needs to be severed, without causing harm.
In this workshop you will:
learn some ancient mythology about Mars & reflect on Mars' symbolism
unpack the symbolism of Mars retrogrades & discuss practices for working with these transits
learn about Mars' upcoming retrograde transit through Virgo & Leo
locate and reflect on this transit in your birth chart
This two hour workshop will include some lecture, some discussion, Q&A, and some exercises to practice with your own chart. I'll also provide some journaling prompts for reflection.
